The Cookbook Corner

Every chef worth her salt has a few {dozen} cookbooks lining the shelves of the kitchen, living room, office, staircase…well, anywhere they can stack. I’ve always been a reader, but my collection of cookbooks didn’t start until my years as an undergraduate journalism student at the University of Tennessee. It started with a few church recipe binders, then my mother got me my own copy of Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking shortly after the famed Julie and Julia hit the big-screen. I was elated, and began to devour as much cooking tidbits my brain could physically handle while I was in the midst of finals to finish my degree. It was only a matter of time before I added to my collection, and now I officially have my family concerned my bookcase is going to fall through the office floor and into the dining room below. So far, no mishaps, so I’m continuing to add to my collection. Check back to this section often to see what I’m cooking through, new book reviews, and favorite food writing quotes.library
